For more than 60 years, Piedmont Natural Gas has enriched the community by supporting programs that promote local economic and social vitality. Now that Piedmont is a part of Duke Energy, the two companies’ tradition of building and strengthening their communities will continue.
Energy Assistance Programs
Piedmont Natural Gas is proud to support various programs for low-income customers, including:
- A $7.5 million commitment to energy efficiency aid for low-income customers and job training programs in 2017
- Low-income home energy assistance programs (LIHEAP)
- Share the Warmth, an energy-assistance program designed to help low-income individuals and families pay their monthly energy bills - regardless of the energy source used in the home
Piedmont invests in a number of initiatives to support our customers, employees and organizations in our communities.
The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation was established in 2004 to support nonprofit organizations. Since its inception, the Foundation has invested more than $9 million in the communities we serve.
Piedmont is now a part of Duke Energy, but our commitment to the communities where we live and work remains unchanged. As of Jan. 1, 2017, the Piedmont Foundation will combine with the Duke Energy Foundation. Together, the organizations will address the needs of our communities by investing time and resources to improve the quality of life for our customers and neighbors.
