Facts about your natural gas bill
- Your natural gas bill is made up of multiple components, some of which Piedmont does not control.
- Piedmont does not control the commodity cost of natural gas, which is set by the financial markets and is increasing globally. This is causing higher bills for natural gas customers everywhere.
- Piedmont does control some other rate components, which are increasing as of November 1, 2021. These rates are intended to cover some of the safety work and infrastructure improvements we perform.
- Piedmont is a regulated utility. We work under the direction of the public utilities commission in each state to set rates, and we cannot increase or decrease rates without approval from these commissions.
