Congratulations on making your business more energy efficient! Before you start your rebate application, we want to make sure you understand the eligibility requirements so that your application can be accepted, and your rebate processed. Here are the requirements:


  • This program is available to existing Piedmont commercial customers in South Carolina who are replacing their existing natural gas equipment with qualifying high-efficiency natural gas equipment. The S.C. Commercial Rebate Program applies only to customers served by the Commercial Rate Schedules 202 or 252.

  • Equipment must be installed at the property where the gas account is located.

  • Maximum number of rebates per commercial service address is 4 within a 12-month period. Each applicant is limited to receive no more than 36 rebates in a 12-month period.

  • Rebates are not available for the equipment replacement of an alternative fuel source such as electricity or propane.

  • Rebates are not available for used or refurbished equipment.

  • A detailed document showing proof of installation must accompany the application. Examples of proof of installation are, but are not limited to, installation receipts, invoices, contracts, and sales receipts.

  • Applications must be submitted within 120 days after the equipment installation.

How do I apply for a rebate?

Before you start your project, make sure your project meets the eligibility requirements for the rebate and that you have a qualified contractor who can do the work.

As you complete your qualified upgrades, make sure you obtain proof of installation that you can provide when you apply for your rebate. After the work is finished, you can complete and submit your application online or by mail at the following address:

  • No, only existing commercial customers replacing an existing natural gas water heater with a qualifying natural gas tankless water heater qualify.
  • Current qualifying S.C. commercial customers whose name is on the account are eligible. To set up an alternate payee the online rebate program application must be used. For more details, use the “ONLINE APPLICATION” button and review the payee section. Note, depending on the rebate dollar amount, a W-9 may also be required to submit with your rebate application.
  • Applications must be submitted within 120 days of equipment installation.
  • Checks are generally mailed within six weeks. Additional time is needed during periods of high application volume or for applications that are submitted with incomplete information.
