Assistance ProgramsShare the Warmth
Piedmont Natural Gas has been partnering with our customers to help low-income neighbors pay their bills through the "Share the Warmth" program. Piedmont has contributed more than $900,000 for assistance for low-income energy assistance over the past five years. Piedmont's contributions from shareholder funds are not paid for by customers or employees.
This winter Piedmont Natural Gas will continue our long standing tradition of helping low-income families and individuals pay their heating bills - and we are asking for your help. One hundred percent of all contributions will be used to help low-income customers pay any type of heating bill including gas, propane, oil, electricity, coal, kerosene or wood. For Piedmont's North Carolina customers, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has established critieria to determine a person's eligibility for assistance. Crisis Assistance Ministry handles the distribution of funds for customers in Mecklenburg County. Funds for all other counties are distributed by the NCDHHS. The SC Governor's Office determines the critieria of a person's eligibility for assistance for Piedmont customers in South Carolina and distributes the funds on our behalf. Piedmont's Tennessee customer eligibility is determined by Big Brothers. This agency distributes funds in Tennessee. Your generous contribution will help many others - particularly the elderly and handicapped in need of assistance with their energy bills.
