This position is responsible for assisting with most functions related to the installation and maintenance of a natural gas distribution system. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude        
• Valid drivers license        
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED        
• Related work experience (machine or equipment operator, mechanic, construction, pipefitter, etc.)        
• CDL

Physical Requirements:

Operate jackhammer; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting (up to 75 lbs.); frequent walking over uneven terrain.

Other Requirements:

On-call responsibilities (as required by district); overtime and weekend work occasionally required; work in adverse weather conditions; CDL must be obtained within probationary period.  Employee will be required to reach the Charlotte District Office within 30 minutes during any emergency situation when the incumbent is called for duty.
