This position is responsible for evaluating and preparing financial statements and regulatory reports filed with the SEC; creating, maintaining and validating XBRL documents; researching and implementing accounting (both GAAP and International IFRS) and SEC pronouncements. This position requires a proficient level of computer skills, the ability to think abstractly and analyze complex rules and data, communicate clearly, work with others and independently. Overtime is required to meet filing dates.

Minimum Requirements:

• BS/BA in accounting or related field  
• Licensed certified public accountant  
• 3-5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent industry experience  
• Strong research skills in GAAP/SEC compliance and application skills  
• Proficient in the preparation of GAAP/SEC financial statements and footnote disclosures, including XBRL compliant documents  
• Strong skills in spreadsheet and report development using Excel and Word and general ledger system experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with PeopleSoft Integrated Financial Systems and Clarity FSR or similar financial reporting software 
• Experience with public utility accounting and reporting 
• Demonstrated effective, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills 
• Experience with and/or working knowledge of IFRS 
• Experience with maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley documentation 
• Ability to analyze operating variances

Physical Requirements: Extended hours at a computer; Extended work outside normal working hours to meet schedules for SEC filings.

Other Position Requirements:  Must have the ability to work under pressure, think abstractly and analyze complex rules and data, work independently and with others and exercise good judgment when making decisions.
