Position Purpose:

To contribute to the selection of pipeline facility components utilized in the construction, operation, and maintenance of transmission and distribution systems.  In addition, the position will be responsible for ensuring that engineering functions related to all pipeline facilities are performed and maintained in accordance with CFR Part 192. 

Minimum Requirements:

• BS degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school    
• Demonstrated proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software    
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills    
• Possess N.C. drivers license

Preferred Requirements:

• EI certification or PE licenses in NC, SC or TN*    
• Engineering design 
• Piping system design experience, experience in gas distribution facility design (pipeline facilities, regulator stations, customer regulating and metering sets) 
• Experience writing specifications or technical reports    
• Proficiency in Auto Cad 
• Experience with DOT Part 192 in the design, operation and maintenance of gas facilities

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit at a computer for long periods, ability to transverse uneven terrain for pipeline observations, ability to respond to emergency situations.

Other Requirements:

*If uncertified at the time of transfer/hire, the incumbent must obtain E1 Certification within 2 years from the date of placement into the job. Limited travel required. May occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends.
